NSHA URGES EXECUTIVE ARM TO INTERVENE IN BASSA, ALLAWA SECURITY CRISES, PROVIDES MATARIALS TO VICTIMS

Niger State House of Assembly has urged the Executive Arm of Government to intervene in the security crises of Bassa, Allawa, and the environs of Shiroro local government.
This was the resolution reached following the matter of urgent public importance that was brought before the plenary of the State House of Assembly by the Minority Leader of the 10th Assembly, Hon Andrew Doma representing Shiroro Constituency.
Hon Doma said that a few weeks back, bandits in large numbers stormed Bassa, Allawa and adjoining villages were they brutal killed and maime mostly children and women.
According to the Member as at the moment some persons in the community can not be accounted for as the bandits were said to have kidnapped large number of persons.
Therefore, he appealed to the Niger State Government to as a matter of urgency set up a security strategy to avoid future occurrence of such barbaric act in that area so more that they bandits threatened to return.
He also said that to provide succour to the victims there is the need for the government to provide the people with relief materials as their houses and food storages were razed down by these men of underworld.
The 10th Assembly granted his prayers and a minute silence was observed for those that lost their souls during the attack.
