Gov. Umaru Bago of Niger State Swears in Chairman for Lapai Local Govt. Area.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has sworn-in the new Council Chairman of Lapai Local Government Area, Mohammed Musa Kirikpo with a call to key into the “New Niger” mission and vision of his administration.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba presided over the brief ceremony at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Minna.
The Chief Judge of Niger State represented by Justice Hafsat Abdullahi Bawa administered the oath of office and allegiance on the Council Chairman.
The Governor congratulated the new Lapai Council Chairman for the elevation and advised him not to get carried away by the power of his office.
He also urged him to resist the temptation of imposing someone as his Vice but to allow the Councilors of the Local Government Area to nominate someone amongst them through a transparent process to be Vice Chairman.
The swearing-in of the Lapai Council Chairman followed the resignation of the former Chairman Muazu Hamidu Jantabo to join the Cabinet of Governor Umaru Bago as a Commissioner.
