Gov. Bago Charges Nigerlites to Key into ‘New Niger’ Policy
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has reiterated the need for critical stakeholders in the state to remain ambitious and key in the his “New Niger Agenda” to enhance the required growth and development.
Governor Bago made the call during the grand reception in honour of the state Ministers, Senators, Member House of Reps and Members state house of assembly held at the Justiće Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Center, Minna.
He noted that the gathering was aimed at fostering unity, collaboration, among all and sundry to be on same page in achieving steady state progress.
Bago explained that the event is adopted as a policy, to be observed every quarter to provide a platform for meaningful discussion on issues that affect the state and how best to address them, while he directed the 25 local government areas to replicate same in their councils.
The Governor tasked the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi whom he described as an elder brother to use his good offices to fast-track the growth and development of the state and the county.
He also appealed to the Minister of State, for Agriculture and Food Security, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi to ensure Niger State is considered for the pilot scheme of federal government Agricultural initiatives based on its size, and natural resources waiting to be tapped.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi and Minister of State, Agriculture and Food Security, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi both applauded the Governor for his foresight and acknowledged that a New Niger is achievable.
According to Malagi, “No need for acrimony, It is time to come together, make sacrifices and synergize for a New Niger” adding that governor Bago is not only building a #NewNiger, but is also unifying Nigerlites for better.
Senator representing Niger South, Sen. Peter Jiya Ndalikali spoke on behalf of the members of the National Assembly from the state and the Speaker Niger State House of Assembly Barr. Abdulmalik Muhammad Sarkin Daji who also spoke on behalf of the members of the state assembly, assured that they will work collectively for the growth and development of the state.
