NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT EXPENDS HUGE AMOUNT ON WATER SUPPLY.

Niger State Government said it has expended huge amount of money in provision of water  in the State.

Making the statement, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Water Resources and Dams Development, Alhaji Akilu Musa Kuta, stated that Government have expended huge amount of funds to make water available to the people in the state.

The Permanent Secretary  while answering question from Newsmen during an assessment tour of some water works in minna town and the recently demolished police station that was built on a water distribution line, said that water is very costly to provide.

 

Akilu Musa Kuta, expressed Government preparedness to change the narrative of water scarcity in the state by exploring other avenue of public private partnership to boast water supply.

He said “the Present administration of Hon Umar Bago has given a matching order to the Water sector” “we need to deliver as a sector and the story must change for the better”, he mentioned.

Alhaji Akilu Kuta emphasized that Government will no longer spend it scarce resources without commiserate return for value. Akilu Musa Kuta point that “we in the water sector must identify our challenges and problem” “we need to fix it and show people our confidence to provide public with water”.

He then appeals to  consumers to desist from vandalizing water pipe lines and warned residents from wastages.
