Auto crash claimed 24 lives along Bida-Mokwa road in Niger.
At least twenty four passengers travelling from Zaria to Lagos have died in auto crash involving a truck carrying eighty seven ( 87 ) people at Etsu woro village in Lavun local government area of Niger state.
Nigeria Daily Post learnt that the accident occurred on Monday night at about 10,10pm along Bida – Mokwa road .
The Sector Commande, Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC) Niger state,Mr Kumar Tsukwan confirmed the incident to journalists in Minna, adding that his men immediately responded to the scene within eight minutes of receiving the report of the accident.
He further disclosed that the truck was carrying eighty four people including seventy four males, six females and seven children before involving in a lone accident, adding that, fourty five people sustained injuries including thirty mine males, three females and three children while ten others survived without injuries.
He said, the victims were evacuated to general hospital Kutigi for prompt medical attention while corpse were taken to the mortuary at Kutigi and the truck was cleared on the road”.
According to him items recovered at the scene includes, (bags of G/ corn other items were handed over to police, he explained.
