Ten miscreants terrorizing Minna metropolis have been arreigned before Magistrate Court Minna.
Ten out of the fourty four hoodlums arrested by Nigeria Police in Minna for terrorizing the general public have been arreigned before Minna magistrate court to answer criminals charges made against them.
Police prosecutor,ASP Ahmed Saidu told the court that the remaining thirty four suspect could not appear before the court for logistics reason as most of the police vehicles and personels are on election duties.
He told the court that the charges against them are criminal in nature as it contravene various sections of the panel code laws of Nigeria.
According to the first police information report,they where areigned before the court on the charges bordering criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, culpable homicide,shop breaking by night, mischief by fire, disturbance of public peace, inciting disturbance,volumteriry causing grievous hurt by dangerous means , wrongful restraint, unlawful possession of dangerous weapon’s in public place, facilitator of weapon, belonging to assemble of thug’s and facilitating thuggery.
ASP Ahmed said the offences are contrary to sections 97(2),221,356,337,113,114,248(2),256 of the penal code law , sections 1(1),2(a),,(b), of the robbery and firearms special provision Act cap R 11 LFN 2004 and sections 6(b),3(b),3(c), and 5 of the Niger state law to prohibit thuggery 2018.
He prayed the court to allow Police to take custody of the Suspects adding that investigation into the matter are still on going.
All the Suspects pleaded not guilty to all the charges in the first Police information report, the Presiding Magistrate,Fati Umar Hassan after careful considerations granted the prayers the Prosecutor ordered that the Suspects be kept in police custody for further investigation.
Mean while the matter was adjourn to 30th of march 2023 for further mention.
