25 LOCAL GOVT COUNCILS IN NIGER ADVISE TO BOOST THEIR IGR.. Liman Iya.

Lack of proper coordination and negligence displayed by some local Government Executives are responsible for their inability to perform optimally in year twenty twenty two budget performances.
This was the observation made by the Chairman house standing committee on local government and Chieftaincy Affair’s Mallam Shauibu Liman Iya, lawmarker representing Suleja constituency in Niger State House of Assembly Minna.
He stated that the documents presented before the committee lack merit as they keep on repeating the same thing every year.
The lawmarker urged the Local Government Executives to work as a team adding that the committee is ready to assist them where it becomes necessary.
Shauibu Liman Iya also advised the Local Government Executives to always make proper documentation of their expenditure and should desist from the tradition of copy and paste as well as establish a good working relationship with their Directors.
On the issue of contract financing loan across twenty five (25) Local Government Council, the Chairman Said repayment of the loan was supposed to have elapsed since November twenty twenty two 2022, therefore the column would be expunged totally From twenty twenty three 2023 budget estimate and that will form part of the committees resolutions.
Hon Shauibu Liman Iya also Commended the Local Governments executives on the area’s they perform well urging them to always synergize with the committee as it is ready to assist them.
He also urged them to improve on their internally generated revenue IGR of the local Government adding that, any Local Government that did not perform up to expectations will have zero budgetary allocation.
All the twenty five Local Government Council are presently attending the screening evercise at the state House of Assembly complex Minna.
