NIGER POLICE COMMAND HAS ARRESTED BANDITS, INFORMANT AND A SUSPECTED RITUALISTS WITH HUMAN SKULL.
Niger state Police Command has arrested suspected kidnappers with the recovery of #2.1m at Lambata, Gurara Local Government area, during interrogation and further investigation into the matter, through the confessional statement of the suspected kidnappers and technical intelligence reports gathered led to another achievement as their informant and food supplier was arrested.
The police Public Relation officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun in a press release made available to Journalist’s in Minna stated that Police operatives attached to Gawu-Babangida Div arrested one Ibrahim Ali, a.k.a Bajala aged 25yrs of Gwalo village via Paikoro LGA.
According to him the suspect was arrested in his hideout at Gwalo village for being a suspected informant and food supplier to the arrested suspected kidnappers.
DSP Wasiu disclosed that during police interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and said that he usually monitors and targets for kidnappers.
He confessed further that he also assist the hoodlums to purchase foodstuffs such as rice, beans, millet and even alcohol of any kind, with cigarettes.
He further stressed that the suspect was arrested with some quantity of raw rice and beans, which he said he wanted to take to the kidnappers hideout in Gwalo forest before their arrest.
The statement added that the Suspect is under investigation at SCID Minna and he will be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as investigation is concluded.
In another development Police operatives attached to New-Bussa Div arrested one Abdulrahman Woru, aged 38yrs of Gbesewona village of Benin Republic,who resides in Babana area of Borgu LGA, a suspected ritualists in possession of human skull.
According to DSP Wasiu PPRO,the suspect was arrested at Babana for being suspected to be in possession of a human skull, and when a search was conducted in his house;
-A human skull,
-Three pieces of suspected human ribs
-Two idols and
-Cash sum of 5000 CFA of Benin Rep currency were recovered.
During interrogation, he confessed that the human skull recovered belonged to him.
The suspect claimed that he migrated from Benin Republic to Nigeria about four years ago for his business, without any immigration document, and that he is a traditional medicine practitioner.
He also claimed that he recently traveled to Benin Rep and while on his way coming back, before entering Nigeria, he saw a bag on the road, picked and checked, and discovered the skull.
He said he tied it on his motorcycle and took it home, because he believed it will be useful for his work, and he did not report to the Police.
The Suspect will soon be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution
