Chanchaga local government to Collaborate NDLEA In fighting illicit Drugs Menace.
The Executive Chairman of Chanchaga local government council, Hon. Aminu Ladan has debunked the vedio that is going round that he called on the yourths to smoke Marijuana freely in the Local Government council secretariat .
The Chairman Hon Aminu Ladan who was on the invitation of the Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA,Niger state command to shade light on the purported viral video by him.
He said ” i feels disappointed as the statement I made in good faith was given another dimension completely and as a leader what ever that would jeopardize the peace of the society shall be my utmost concern.”.
He said the vedio that went viral was edited to deformed his character as a good person and to bring him enemity among his followers, the edited vedio was done to the best interest of the person who does that.
“I appreciate National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA particularly the state Commandant who called on my attention to clear air on the purported statement they said I have made in the vedio that went viral”.
Hon Aminu Ladan mentioned that as Chairman of Chanchaga local government area i can not encourage somebody or group of person’s to eat what I doesn’t eat particularly hard drugs that I know is against the law of the Federal government.
To fight criminality in the local government area he stressed that for just one week from his assumption of office as Chairman of the council, he have refurbished all the patrol vehicles of the Vigilantes corps .
He added that on the invitation of the Commandant of NDLEA he have completed arrangements on how to tackle consumption of illicit drugs in Chanchaga local government area.
He then assures the general public in the area to have confidence in his leadership as the viral video Wii not dettered him from doing the good things his administration planned to do to better the living conditions of the general populace.
Earlier in his speech the Commandant of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Niger state Command, Haruna Kwetishe said that the reason for the invitation of the Chairman Hon Aminu Ladan is because of the video that went viral and the purported statement therein.
He show appreciation for the Chairman to have honour their invitation adding that ‘when we saw the vedio and listened to the purported statement the Chairman made it gave us sleepless nights not until we listened to the unedited vedio.
According to the Commandant, Mr Haruna kwetishe said the Chairman Hon Aminu Ladan was quote out of context having listened to the unedited vedio.
He stated that NDLEA will never and would not allow Drug abuse or any person to abuse drug in the state ‘as I said few days ago, this is political time which is very fragile we would not allow any Yourths to go into drugs.
