Fed Govt. To lmplement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 on Water Sustainability .

The National council on water Resources has commences brainstorming on water development across the country in Sokoto.
The meeting with the theme: “sustaining development goals 6 challenges and prospect’s is aimed at brainstorming on water development and latest innovations that would take Nigeria to adopt best practices on water development and management.
Minister of water Resources, Engineer Sulaiman Adamu Sokoto In his address at the occasion stated that Federal government in collaboration with the Sustainable development goals has concluded plans to boast water resources and Dams development in the Country.
During the Council meeting they adopted the implementation of sustainable development goals 6 towards water sustainability, which the Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Minister of water resources Engr Sulaiman Adamu and the Commissioner of Water resources and Dams, Niger state, Mamman Musa were in attendance.
Earlier In her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Mrs Didi Esther Wilson stated that the meeting is aimed at discussing prospect and challenges of actualizing water related issues in the Country as enshrined in the Sustainable Development goals of the present administration at the National and state government level.
The Permanent Secretary reminded them the Federal government preparedness to provide sustainable safe and sufficient water to meet the socio-economic needs of all Nigerians.
Mrs Didi Esther Wilson said the National council meeting would also discuss modalities on how to implement Water Resource’s Policies and Programs.
