Declare your Assets to avoid embarrassement —- says HYPPADEC warn staffs

Birnin KebbiThe Managing Director of Hydroelectric power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) Alh Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa has charged all the staffs of the commission to comply with the federal government’s directives and declare their assets through the code of conduct Bureau.
Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa stated this while declare open 2 days training workshop, tittle,”compliance with assets declaration and code of conduct for public offecers”, organized by HYPPADEC in collaboration with code of conduct Bureau held in Birnin kebbi.
He added that the commission is committed to assets declaration with the view of aiding the government in tracking the assets and liabilities of it’s staff vis-a vis their income in order to mitigate unethical conducts including corruption,money laundering and fraud.
Yelwa who was represented by its special Adviser on Technical Dr Yaseen Abubakar, adding that the federal government rules and regulations is to ensure that all the civil servants in the country should declared there assists in order to maitain accountability and transparency.
“Let me emphasized that the federal government under the leadership of president Muhammad Buhari is unprecedentedly committed to fighting corruption and improving accountability in the Nigerian civil and public service’ he added.
He noted that the commission will make sure this training on accountability and public marality is extended to all state and area offices in Benue,Kebbi,Kogi, Kwara,and plateau states.
He also appeal to the participants to be attentive and learn with an open mind because the code will be the central guide and reference in their day to day activities and decision making.
“The Commission will not conduct any lazy staff, every one most abide by the rules and regulations of the Commission’ he said.
In his remark the facilitator and Deputy Director Code of conduct Bureau Mr Okozie Michael said failure to comply with the code of conduct Bureau ethics can lead a civil servant to lose his job.
He then appeal to the participants to comply with the agency guide line in order for them to have a smooth assists declaration.
