The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Ogundele J. Ayodeji, psc(+) has cautioned the youths in Niger State against acts of thuggery, violence, youth restiveness, drug abuse, and other social vices.
The CP asserted this today 6th January, 2023 in his office when strategic youth leaders in the State known as Government and Community Youths Leaders Relations Committee led by Amb. Umar Muhammad, State Coordinator, Youth Empowerment and Mobilization paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police.
CP J. A Ogundele noted that the rate of youth restiveness was high in the State before he assumed duty as Commissioner of Police in the Command, but the Command has been able to surmount these challenges, and youth restiveness has drastically reduced, due to his efforts of constant night patrols with the Operations department.
He admonished the youth leaders to advise their colleagues against illicit acts and turn a new life for a peaceful environment, most especially as 2023 general election is fast approaching and avoid being used as political thugs before, during and after the general elections
He reiterated that the Command will not relent in its constant visibility day and night patrols of every nooks and crannies of the metropolis and the State at large, to send warning signals to those who may want to foment troubles.
The State Coordinator said, in his courtesy message that the visit was meant to familiarize themselves with the Command and to inform the CP of the existence of the Committee.
