The controller of Corrections, Niger state command, Salman Abdulkadir fsi, has carried out an inspection tour of correctional facilities under his Command Calling on the Officer’s to maintain maximum security of all custodial centres particularly, flash points custodial centres in the state.
While on the visit, the Controller of Corrections, Niger state Command mentioned that the visit was on the directives he received from the Controller General to beef up security in and around Custodial Centers across the Nation before, during and after the Yuletide.
The Controller of Corrections,who was at the Minna old custodial centre reiterates that the officers and men of the command should resist any threats if any in all Custodial Centers across the state.
According to him, “the custodial centres are red zone, hence, all officers and Men of the command to respond with maximum force any attempt to taste its will’.
The controller was also at other formations that includes the medium security custodial centre, Minna New Tunga where he charged them to remain at red alerts and thwart any act of sabotage that would distrupt the existing peace and calmness enjoyed by the inmates.
He has earlier deployed staff from the state command headquarters to compliment the workforce especially at the two major custodial centres in Minna New and old respectively.
He further called on the officers and Men to support the current administration of CGC to attain the full objective of the service to Reform, Rehabilitate and Reintegrate offenders of the law through the provision of custodial and Non custodial measures in accordance with international best practice.
