NSP foundation provides transformer, electrified host community in Niger state
The North South Power (NSP) foundation
has provided 500 KVA transformer to Jankasa community hosting the power dam in Shiroro local government area of Niger state.
Jankasa Community is a village located in Zumba ward, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State has since inception of the community several decades ago existed without electricity supply.
People in this community depend on neighbouring villages for activities that requires power.

The electrification project which will now open up the community for economic activities is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the North South Power Foundation.
Head General Services North South Power Company Limited and Manager of the Foundation Kemi Adekanye said the electrification project is in fulfillment of the vision of the Power Company to improve the living standard of their host communities.
Adekanya said the project was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) of the power station to provide electricity to improve the living standard and economic activities of host communities.
She urged the people of the community to take advantage of the electricity to venture into profitable businesses and promised to extend same gesture to other host communities.
She advised the people of the community to own the project in order to prevent it from being vandalized.
Similarly, Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi, Consultant in charge of CRS for the NSPF, said the foundation since inception designed road map to impact positively on host communities by uplifting their livelihoods.
He said the emphasizes of the foundation was to provide electricity to host communities, portable drinking as well as scholarship to indigents children.
Inaugurating the Project, Commissioner for Transport, Hadiza Idris Kuta described the gesture as a welcome development which will add value to the economy emancipation of the community.
In his remarks, the Village Head of Jankasa, Alhaji Alheri Audu, said the people of the community were overwhelmed by the project and appreciated the foundation for the gesture.
