Gov. Bago flags off phase 2 distribution of Agric assets and tools to beneficiaries.
Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago represented by his Deputy, Farmer Comrade Yakubu Garba performed the official phase II distribution of Agricultural Assets, Inputs, and work tools to Farmers and Labour Intensive Public Workforce beneficiaries in Minna today.
The Distribution was symbolically performed at the minna Polo field with the Governor calling on the Beneficiaries to make use of the items given for the purpose it is meant for.
The Governor said it is to mark a significant milestone towards transforming agriculture in the state and a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to the New Niger Agenda and the objective is to diversify the State’s economy and ensure food Security.
Governor Bago further announced the commencement of phase II distribution of Agricultural Assets, Inputs and work tools to hard working and industrious farmers especially the beneficiaries of the labour intensive public workfare tools for farmers in Niger State (LIPW). This initiative stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment to fostering Agricultural development and food security by ensuring the prosperity of the farming communities and the people of the State and the Nation at large.
“As we all know Agriculture is the backbone of our state economy, providing sustenance and livelihoods for the majority of our population, recognizing this, our administration is dedicated to implementing strategic interventions that empower our farmers, enhance agricultural productivity and guarantee food security which is a tangible step towards realizing this vision of transforming the Agricultural sector by making farming attractive in Niger State”, the Governor said.
The Governor assured that his administration will cultivate a brighter and more prosperous green future for Niger State as he remains steadfast in the commitment to transforming the Agricultural sector and working tirelessly for the betterment of the State.
Present at the occasion includes members of the State Executive Council, The Emir of Minna Alh. (Dr.) Umar Faruk Bahago and other top government officials, traditional tittle holders, Council Chairmen, benefiting individuals, farmers group and associations.
