NUJ, Niger State council to Partner initiatives toward socio-economic dev. Of the People.
Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Niger State Council has pledged to partner any initiative geard towards socio-economic development of the people.
The State Chairman of NUJ Comrade Abu Nmodu stated this when some officials of Development Initiative of West Africa DIWA paid him a courtesy call at IBB Pen House Minna.
Comrade Abu Nmodu said the Union is passionate about the wellbeing of the citizens assuring that, members would continue to do their best in entrenching an egalitarian society.
The State Chairman of NUJ stressed the need for all hands to be deck especially faith based organisations to eradicate all forms of immoral acts adding that, fear of God without helping the needy is meaningless.
Comrade Nmodu then assured that, the Union would support DIWA in it’s efforts of ensuring a peaceful coexistence in a multi religious and cultural society.
Earlier the Chanchaga local government coordinator of DIWA Muhammad Hajji Muhammad said the visit was to collaborate with NUJ towards eradicating immoral acts such as sex hawking and other atrocities in the society.
Muhammad Hajji disclosed that, DIWA was formed to address among others, issues affecting vulnerable communities in the areas of access to education, health, capacity building, and good governance .
