Alhaji Umar Yabagi tasks Staff of his Ministry to Partner related Organisations to achieve the Set mandate of Mr Governor.
Commissioner, Ministry of Science and Technology, Alhaji Umar Yabagi, has challenged the staff of his Ministry to partner with related organizations to achieve the mandates of the Ministry.
Alhaji Umar Yabagi gave the challenge while meeting with the staff yesterday at the Ministry’s Conference Hall.
The Commissioner said the meeting aimed at providing a strategic priorities and action plans in advancing quality and welfare of various departments.
He said, his mission is to transform innovation, Science and Technology sector in the State to more desirable level by making the environment friendly for researchers.
According to him, the Ministry will take its responsibilities in secondary Schools and Tertiary Education research programmes for the benefit of the State.
He added that the Ministry will adopt high standard of professionalism and ethics in accordance to the Ministry’s mandate.
Umar Yabagi then urged the staff to be dedicated to their duties, as he will do all within his capacity to make the office conducsive for efficient and effective service delivery.
Earlier in her welcome remark, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Kaltume Dauda Rufai said she is optimistic that with the wealth of experience of the Commissioner, it will go a long way in achieving the set goals and mandates of the new Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary added that having Commissioner in the Ministry will fast track the activities of the Ministry as it will facilitate easy interaction with the executive arm of government.
She stated that the present structure housing the Ministry is in dilapidated condition, Stressing the need to rehabilitate the offices for conducive working environment.
In his goodwill message the
Director Science and Technology, Mohammad Saidu who spoke on behave of Directors says Science and Technology is capital intensive, also one of the challenges is lack of cash backing for approved programs in the Ministry.
He said the department has a number of research on some plants as an alternative medicine, these plants include pumpkin, lufa among others
