Teacher Flees After Allegedly Beating 12-Year-Old Student to Death.
A teacher has gone into hiding after allegedly beating a 12-year-old student to death in Adazi-Ani, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Friday.
According to police, officers attached to the Neni Division responded quickly after receiving a report of the incident on July 16 and rushed the victim to a hospital. However, the student was confirmed dead by a medical doctor during treatment.
He disclosed that photographs of the deceased were taken, and preliminary findings showed visible marks of violence on various parts of the victim’s body.
The police spokesperson said the suspect fled the scene and is currently being tracked by security forces.
He assured the grieving family and the public that the command is conducting a thorough, diligent, and transparent investigation to ensure that anyone found responsible is brought to justice.
