Police convoy hits and kills police inspector in Enugu
A police inspector assigned to the Enugu State Police Command has reportedly died after being struck by a vehicle in a police convoy in Enugu State.
The deceased, identified as Inspector Dr. Obodo Paul Ikechukwu, was working in the Operations Department at the Enugu State Police Headquarters before the tragic incident.
Although the exact details of the accident are unclear, sources said the officer sustained fatal injuries after being hit by one of the vehicles in the convoy.
Inspector Ikechukwu, a native of Nkpologu in Enugu State, was also said to hold a PhD. Colleagues and friends described him as a dedicated and hardworking officer, and his death has left the command and his community mourning.
