Coalition groups of   APC aspirants supporters forum, Plateau  State  reject aspirants replacement.

Yakubu Busari

An open Letter the National leadership of the  All  Progressives Congress  (APC), party faithful, and stakeholders across Nigeria

RE: opopposition to any attempt to reintroduce a disqualified aspirant into the  APC nomination process .

The Coalition of APC Aspirants Supporters Forum, Plateau State, wishes to express its deep concern over reports and speculations suggesting that certain individuals are lobbying the leadership of our great party to single out a disqualified aspirant for reconciliation and possible reconsideration for a party ticket after the successful conduct of the APC primaries.

in a communiqué jointly signed by Pontim Tyem Chairman, Plateau South,Masop Barnabas,Chairman, Plateau Central,Pam Gyang Yohana Chairman, Plateau North made available to this medium in Jos  .

We wish to state categorically that such a move would be unjust, undemocratic, and capable of creating avoidable tension within our party.

The APC is a party founded on discipline, fairness, due process, and respect for established rules. The primaries were conducted, and decisions were taken in accordance with the party’s guidelines. Any attempt to overturn those decisions for the benefit of one individual would send a dangerous signal that indiscipline, public attacks on party leaders, and orchestrated pressure campaigns can be rewarded.

It is on public record that some supporters of the affected aspirant engaged in demonstrations and circulated derogatory statements against respected APC leaders on social media. Rewarding such conduct would undermine party authority and encourage future acts of insubordination.

Furthermore, such a decision would raise serious questions regarding fairness to other aspirants who were also disqualified during the primaries but accepted the outcome in the interest of party unity.

For the record, the following aspirants were disqualified during various stages of the APC primary process in Plateau State:

Sen. Napoleon Bali

Barr. Gyang Zi, SAN

Mr. Ephraim Usman

Adamu Aliyu of Jos North

These individuals accepted the party’s decision despite their personal sacrifices and aspirations. If one disqualified aspirant is singled out for special consideration, what becomes of the rights and expectations of others who were similarly affected in Plateau State and across the country?

We are particularly concerned that such a move could validate concerns previously raised by Barr. Gyang Zi, SAN, who reportedly considered seeking legal redress over his disqualification from the Plateau North Senatorial primary. The party must avoid actions that could reopen settled issues and create fresh disputes where peace currently exists.

The Coalition therefore appeals to the National Working Committee, the National Chairman, and all relevant organs of the APC to resist any attempt to legalize illegality or undermine the integrity of the party’s primary election process.

We believe that reopening concluded matters for one individual would trigger agitation among other affected aspirants nationwide and could lead to avoidable protests, divisions, and loss of confidence in the party’s internal democratic processes.

The APC must remain a beacon of fairness, discipline, and equal treatment for all members. No individual should be placed above the party or its rules.

We call on all party faithful to remain vigilant and committed to preserving the unity, stability, and democratic principles of our great party.
