Prof M.B Nuhu felicitates Muslims on Eid al-Adha, calls for peace, responsible conduct ahead of 2027
Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu, former Commissioner for Tertiary Education in Niger State and Executive Director (Finance) of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), has extended warm Sallah greetings to Muslims across, Niger state, Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration.
In a goodwill message through his Special Assistant (Special Duties), Alhaji Yahuza Isah Erena, Prof. Nuhu urged the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the enduring lessons of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), particularly his unwavering faith, obedience, sacrifice, resilience, and devotion to the will of Almighty Allah.
He noted that the festival symbolizes the essence of selflessness and total submission, virtues that remain critical in fostering a just and harmonious society.
He called on Muslims to use the period of the celebration to intensify prayers for Nigeria, especially for sustained peace, unity, stability, and economic prosperity. According to him, collective prayers and positive actions by citizens are vital in strengthening national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
The NCDC Executive Director also appealed to political actors, stakeholders, and the electorate to demonstrate maturity and responsibility as the country gradually approaches the 2027 general elections.
He cautioned against inflammatory statements and actions that could incite division or violence, emphasizing the need for peaceful, free, fair, and credible electoral processes.
Prof. Nuhu further encouraged Nigerians to remain law-abiding and supportive of initiatives aimed at national development, stressing that unity and mutual respect among citizens are key to overcoming the nation’s challenges.
He wished all Muslims a joyous and spiritually fulfilling Eid al-Adha celebration, praying that Allah (SWT) accepts their acts of worship and sacrifices.
