Private Radio Stations in Niger State Enhance Collaboration at Industry Roundtable

The owners of private radio stations in Niger State held a meeting to strengthen cooperation and address challenges affecting broadcasting in the state.
Organized by the CEO of Nexter 97.7FM, Mallam Mohammed Nma Kolo, the gathering brought together key industry leaders, including representatives from Badeggi FM, Prestige FM, Maw Trade FM, and Nexter FM.
In a post-event interview, Muhammad Shuaibu Badeggi, interim chairman of the association and CEO of Badeggi FM, highlighted the importance of improving content quality, maintaining professional standards, fostering positive relationships with government authorities, and exploring ways to harness radio’s potential for public enlightenment and development initiatives.
Participants also emphasized the need for greater unity among private broadcasters, believing that collaboration would boost their stations’ competitiveness and their ability to better serve audiences.
Mohamed Nma Kolo, Chairman of Nexter Radio, underscored radio’s vital role in shaping public opinion and promoting community growth. He called for continued engagement among sector stakeholders.
The meeting aims to encourage future collaborations and joint projects among private radio stations in Niger State.
