PROJECT NA WATER: A PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT FOR DISTINGUISHED SENATOR MOHAMMED SANI MUSA’S CONTINUITY AS A SENATOR OF NIGER EAST

In every generation, leadership emerges that leaves a visible footprint on the lives of the people. In the Niger East Senatorial Zone, many residents believe they are witnessing such leadership through the representation of Distinguished Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, popularly known as 313, whose tenure has been widely associated with development, empowerment, and grassroots impact.

Across communities in the zone, the senator’s interventions in infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, and social development have brought tangible progress to many communities.

Roads, educational support initiatives, empowerment programmes, and other development efforts have continued to shape the narrative of representation in the district. For many young people and community members, these efforts have created opportunities and renewed hope for a better future.

As at last count, the Distinguished Senator has over 500 projects across the nine (9) LGAs that make up the Senatorial District. It is this growing recognition of visible projects and community impact that has given rise to the now popular grassroots movement known as “Project Na Water.”

The slogan has gradually evolved into a powerful expression among supporters and residents who see the senator’s performance as proof of effective representation. It’s a way of lining up behind a leader with a positive track record.

The Distinguished Senator has built several classrooms, supplied education/learning materials, built motorized solar-powered boreholes, ICT Centres, Primary Health Care Centers, several 50-bed capacity hospitals in each and every LGA of the senatorial district, supplied step-down transformers, solar street lights, mini sport complexes, youth development centres, etc.

As if not done, the Distinguished Senator sponsored over 200 sons and daughters of the state to India, China, and Singapore to study Medical, Biomedical, Engineering, cyber security, and other sundry courses. He’s set to sponsor an additional 200 to Singapore, Philippines, and Russia. The esteemed senator realizes that education is the only weapon with which we can develop our society.

The Senator, who is also the Dan Durbin Minna, has floated a domestic undergraduate and post-graduate scholarship scheme. The applicants have been screened, with the final list expected any moment. He yearly pays for NECO and JAMB examinations for the less privileged.

The phrase “Na Water” has become al ocal political metaphor symbolizing excellence, reliability, and undeniable performance. Across gatherings, discussions, and political conversations within the Niger East Senatorial Zone, the phrase is often used to describe the senator’s track record and the perception that his projects speak for themselves. Water is found everywhere; it’s colorless, odourless, and tasteless, and he who gives you water gives you life. “Projects na water” simply means the Senator has numerous projects all over the nooks and crannies of the senatorial district.

Beyond the slogan, Project Na Water has increasingly become a platform for citizens, supporters, and community stakeholders to highlight the various developmental projects associated with the senator’s representation. It also provides a channel for many beneficiaries, particularly young people empowered through different initiatives, to express their support for the continuity of the esteemed, most Distinguished Senator Mohammed Sani Musa. Supporters of the movement often argue that sustaining ongoing development requires consistent leadership. For them, the growing calls for a third term for the esteemed Senator are not merely political demands but reflections of appreciation for what they consider impactful representation.

Ramadan palliative for Niger East senatoria district.

The Senator has proved his mettle as the undisputed landlord of Niger East (Zone B) politics by settling the Law School fees of over 100 law students, amounting to over fifty million naira (50,000,000).

This gesture wasn’t limited to his Senatorial zone alone but the whole 25 LGAs of the state. No wonder many Nigerlites see him as a state governor in waiting. Recently, as a leader who takes to heart the welfare of his people, he bought twenty (20) trailers of assorted grains worth over seven hundred and fifty million (750,000,000) naira to provide succour for fasting and Sallah festivities of his constituents.

With the involvement of community leaders, youth groups, political stakeholders, and ordinary citizens, Project Na Water continues to gain visibility as a unifying campaign that echoes a simple message across the Niger East Senatorial Zone: when leadership delivers results, the people naturally ask for continuity.

As the political conversation continues to evolve in the zone, one thing remains clear – Project Na Water has become more than a slogan. For many supporters, it represents gratitude for past achievements, confidence in the present leadership, and hope for sustained development in the future. Project Na Water because performance speaks for itself; the people respond.

Ramadan Palliative

As the election draws closer, one thing is on the lips of the Distinguished Senator’s constituents: they want him to return to the Senate so he can continue to, as usual, make good things happen.
