Governor Umaru Bago Inspects Level II Primary Health Care Centres in Bosso and Katcha LGAs.
Farmer-Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago plans to provide ambulances, establish accident and emergency units, and increase workforce and staff accommodation at the Garatu and Katuargi Level II Primary Health Care Centres in Bosso and Katcha local government areas, respectively.
He made these promises after inspecting the health care centers separately and engaging with the staff and some community stakeholders.
The governor noted that these two health care centers are located along a highway; therefore, properly equipping them is vital to delivering quality services.
He also instructed his Deputy Chief of Staff, Sadiq Yusuf, and the Bosso Council Chairman, Usman Laka, to immediately oversee the construction of drainage around the Garatu health center to prevent water from entering the facility, especially during rainy seasons.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing quality, affordable health care to the community.
He urged the health center staff and residents to take ownership of the facilities and maintain them, and also encouraged pregnant women to use the centers for antenatal care.
In separate remarks, Mohammed Ishiaku Doma, chair of the Ward Development Committee, and Hajiya Kuluwa Mallam, in charge of the Garatu health center, thanked the governor for constructing the facility, saying it has added value to the community.
They also listed some demands, including drainage, an ambulance, and more staff.
Health Commissioner Dr. Murtala Bagana expressed excitement over the governor’s inspection, noting it will boost accountability among staff and the public.
