NCDC Executives Felicitate Muslims on the Commencement of Ramadan 1447 AH
The Executive Director of Finance at the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Professor Mohammed Bashir Nuhu Tachi, alongside Board Member Haliru Zakari Jikantoro, has congratulated Muslims in Niger State, across Nigeria, and around the world on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the beginning of the sacred period, which commenced on February 18, 2026, the NCDC executives described Ramadan as a spiritually uplifting season of immense significance to Muslims globally. They noted that the holy month plays a vital role in strengthening faith and moral consciousness among the faithful.
According to them, Ramadan is devoted to fasting, intense prayers, self-reflection, and acts of charity, all of which provide an opportunity for Muslims to deepen their relationship with God while fostering empathy for the less privileged in society.
They further explained that the blessed month offers a unique period for personal growth and renewed faith, encouraging adherents to embrace humility, generosity, and compassion as guiding principles in their daily lives.
The NCDC representatives emphasized that Ramadan also serves as a reminder of enduring values such as discipline, sacrifice, tolerance, and communal harmony, noting that these virtues are essential for building a peaceful, united, and progressive society.
Professor Tachi and Jikantoro urged Muslims and adherents of other faiths to promote unity and mutual understanding, describing peaceful coexistence as a foundation for sustainable development. They also called on citizens to continue supporting the initiatives of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at addressing socio-economic challenges across the country.
They concluded by encouraging Nigerians, particularly Nigerlites, to draw inspiration from the lessons of Ramadan and contribute meaningfully to national development, while wishing the Muslim Ummah a spiritually rewarding month filled with peace, abundant blessings, and renewed hope for a brighter future.
