NCDC CONDOLES KWARA, NIGER AND BENUE STATES OVER TERRORIST ATTACKS
The Board, Management and Staff of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) are deeply saddened by the recent terrorist attacks in parts of some states of the North Central region including Kwara, Benue and Niger States.
The most recent attacks on Kaima, Kwara State which led to the tragic loss of many innocent lives is devastating to the Commission as it regrets the horrible incident.
The Commission strongly condemns these heinous and senseless acts of violence that have brought grief and pain to families, communities and the entire people of Kwara State.
It extends heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Kwara State, particularly the affected communities, and pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed.
Similarly, the NCDC expresses outrage over recent attack in Niger State which occurred in Borgu Local Government when terrorists attacked Kasuwan Daji a local market and abducted several residents while killing others.
Another attack on Abande community in Kwande local Government of Benue State was also described as very disturbing and condemnable.
According to the NCDC, these repeated attacks within the North Central region are deeply troubling and underscore the urgent need for sustained and coordinated efforts to address insecurity.
The Commission stands in solidarity with the affected states at this difficult time and commends the efforts of security agencies who continue to work tirelessly to restore peace and protect lives and property.
The Commission acknowledges the action taken by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu by directing and deploying troops to go after the terrorists and restore order.
It also extends solidarity and support to Governors of the affected states commending them for their commitment to restoring normalcy and standing with the people at this critical time.
The NCDC reiterates its commitment to collaborating with relevant authorities and stakeholders particularly the security forces to support initiatives aimed at enhancing security, promoting peace, and fostering sustainable development across the North Central region and prays with the bereaved families and communities.
