Niger Assembly Speaker Praises Nigerian Army’s Successful Rescue of 70 Kidnapped Victims
The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, publicly commended the Nigerian Army for its leadership during a successful security operation that rescued approximately 70 kidnapped victims from various parts of Niger State.
He also acknowledged the vital support and collaboration of the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies, which played a crucial role in the operation carried out in Mariga Local Government Area and other areas within the Niger North Senatorial District.
He described the operation as a major relief to the affected communities. The Speaker emphasized that the professionalism and bravery of the Nigerian Army and allied security forces led to the neutralization of multiple bandits, the arrest of suspected criminals, and the rescue of many innocent citizens held captive.
He pointed out that the successful rescue highlights the renewed commitment of Nigerian security agencies to fight banditry and crime in the state.
Furthermore, the Speaker stated that the operation’s success has renewed hope and confidence among residents, especially those in rural and vulnerable areas who have faced repeated attacks.
He commended the officers and personnel of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their sacrifices and dedication, recognizing the risks they face daily to protect lives and property.
Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Sarkin-Daji assured the Nigerian Army and security agencies of the Niger State Government’s ongoing support, reaffirming the state’s commitment to strengthening security measures.
