2027: Stakeholders Strategize for Ndarani’s Senatorial Victory

By Mohammed Baba Busu

Critical stakeholders and enablers have outlined strategies for Mohammed Ndarani, SAN’s, success in the Niger South senatorial race.

The maiden meeting of stakeholders and enablers for Ndarani’s SENATORIAL CANDIDACY PROJECT took place in Minna, the state capital, on Thursday to formalize their plans.

The gathering drew key political figures, grassroots leaders, and stakeholders from across Niger South (Zone A).

In his opening remarks, the meeting’s convener, President General of CAGRAT and National Chairman of the Nupe Development Forum (Nupe-Defo), Engr. Muhammadu Dagaci and Zarumi Agaie emphasized the importance of grassroots involvement in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.

He highlighted that credible leadership and good governance depend on active citizen participation in building consensus and working together toward common goals.

“Representative democracy is for the people, and it is time we took ownership of it,” Dagaci stated.

“We must be more participatory, duty-conscious, and safeguard our rights and freedoms as protected by law.”

He called on participants to collaborate to ensure credible elections, accountable leadership, and governance focused on development and public happiness, warning that “self-imposed candidates have plagued our democracy for too long, and it is time to put an end to it.”

The President General reminded everyone that leadership spans generations and that succession planning is vital for sustainable development.

“One generation does not rule forever; we must work together to build a better future for ourselves and those yet to come,” he said.

Earlier, Abubakar Mahmud Etsu, coordinator of the Supreme Support for Good Governance (SSG-3) / Niger South Youth Coalition Political Movement, described Ndarani, SAN, as a trustworthy, experienced, and people-focused leader.

Etsu explained that their movement is founded on principles of inclusive governance, transparency, accountability, and effective representation. He noted that Ndarani’s background in public service, legal advocacy, and community development aligns perfectly with their vision for Niger South.

He emphasized that the coalition is ready to collaborate with other stakeholders to forge a broad political consensus that can secure victory in the elections, while promoting unity and peaceful political engagement across the zone.

It was reported that former council chairpersons, vice chairpersons, members of the Niger State House of Assembly, and prominent APC stakeholders from the Niger Zone A senatorial district openly supported the call by Niger South Coalition Groups for Ndarani to run for the seat.

They argued that Ndarani’s vision, mission, and track record of achievements make him a credible candidate capable of elevating the zone.

Several speakers, admitting they had not met him personally, mentioned that they had heard about his significant contributions to Nupe land’s development—describing these as commendable and a clear sign that, if given the mandate, the zone would benefit from effective, people-oriented representation.

Ndarani was praised at the meeting as an international senior lawyer and renowned human rights activist, widely respected for his humility and dedication to the well-being of ordinary people.

The meeting concluded with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to deepen consultations and grassroots mobilization in support of Ndarani’s senatorial bid.
