New Year 2026: A Call for Unity and Progress from Commissioner of Information, Hon. Obed Nuhu
On behalf of the Government of Niger State, I extend heartfelt greetings to all Nigerlites and Nigerians as we conclude the year 2025 and welcome the New Year 2026 with renewed hope and a collective sense of purpose.
In a statement issued to the press and signed by Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, it was acknowledged that the past year challenged our resilience, particularly amid security concerns and social pressures. Nonetheless, through unity, patience, and unwavering faith in government, Niger State demonstrated resilience.
I sincerely thank the people of Niger State for their trust, cooperation, and steadfast support during critical times, which significantly contributed to our shared progress.
As we move into 2026, I urge all residents to continue supporting the administration of His Excellency, Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago, as it advances the New Niger Agenda—an initiative aimed at promoting good governance, security, economic revitalization, infrastructure development, and inclusive growth.
Accomplishing these objectives necessitates the collective effort of citizens, community leaders, the media, civil society, and all stakeholders. Together, we must remain vigilant, law-abiding, and united in building a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive Niger State.
The government reaffirms its commitment to transparent communication, responsive leadership, and policies that prioritize the welfare of our citizens.
As we commence this new chapter, may 2026 bring peace, increased opportunities, and shared prosperity to our state and nation.
Happy New Year to all.
