Niger State Government has received 100 rescued school children from St. Mary Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara area of the state.

The National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, represented by Wing Commander Abdullah, handed over the children to the Governor at the government house in Minna.
He stated that the rescue was the result of an intense and coordinated operation by the NSA’s office, the Department of State Security Services, the Armed Forces, and other security agencies over the past two weeks.
The NSA reaffirmed its commitment to continue leading and ensuring the protection of all communities and institutions across the country.
“We are implementing immediate short-term protective measures in high-risk areas, while simultaneously working with State government, traditional, and religious leaders to develop lasting community-based security solutions.”
“We will continue to pursue policies and operations that restore confidence, reopen schools safely, and ensure that every Nigerian child has the right to learn in safety.”
Governor Umaru Bago appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and all security agencies, as well as other critical stakeholders, for their efforts in rescuing 100 school children.
He assured the parents that the state government will maintain collaboration with the federal government and other relevant authorities to ensure the remaining children are rescued safely.
The governor stated that the children would be reunited with their families after undergoing a medical examination.
