Update: 50 Pupils Reunited with Families in Niger State Amid Ongoing Abduction Crisis

Authorities have announced that fifty pupils have escaped from captivity and been reunited with their families following a terrorist attack on a school in Niger State. The attack, believed to be carried out by terrorists, resulted in the abduction of 303 students.
The escaped pupils managed to flee between Friday and Saturday, unable to return to school afterward. Officials verified this information during visits to parents and through security assessments.
Current school records indicate that 377 primary pupils are boarders, with an additional 53 non-boarding students, totaling 430 pupils enrolled in the primary section.
According to Daniel Atori, media aide to Bishop Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, chairman of CAN, saidl, 141 pupils remain with the abductors, alongside 236 pupils, three children of staff, and 14 secondary students who are still missing, bringing the total number of captives to 253 children and 12 staff members.

While the release of these 50 children brings some relief, officials and community leaders continue to work with security agencies, praying for the safe rescue of all remaining victims. Authorities have called on the public to stay calm and prayerful as efforts to recover the abducted individuals continue.
