Niger State Governor Umaru Bago Receives Award of Excellence from the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association.
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has been recognized with an Award of Excellence by the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) for his remarkable dedication to agricultural advancement, focusing on both crops and livestock.
The accolade was conferred during the NVMA’s 61st Annual Congress, held in Jalingo, Taraba State. The association commended Governor Bago’s significant efforts in enhancing veterinary services within the state. Notably, these initiatives include the hiring of 21 veterinarians, 27 para-veterinarians, and 53 fisheries officers, which were described as both comprehensive and unprecedented.
The award was accepted on behalf of Governor Bago by Dr. Jonathan Wasa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.
