Gunmen attack Benue communities, kill 7 residents.

Gunmen suspected to be herders have attacked two communities in Benue State, killing seven persons.

The assailants, on Tuesday, simultaneously invaded Tse Fela and Tse Akyegh in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state.

A livestock guard was among the victims, while property and foodstuff were razed.

Sources told The Nation that the residents noticed strange movements in their area and raised the alarm.

Many fled but some were trapped and the attackers killed seven of them.

District Head Adi Bata said the casualty figure would have been higher if not for the alarm.
