CSP Benjamin Hundeyin Appointed New Force Public Relations Officer by Inspector-General of Police.

In a formal announcement, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). This appointment is expected to usher in a new era of public engagement and communication for the police force.
The announcement came through a statement issued by DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra, fCAI, the outgoing FPRO, who expressed confidence in CSP Hundeyin’s expertise and experience.
He underscored CSP Hundeyin’s qualifications and background as vital assets that will contribute to enhancing the public relations efforts of the police.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin boasts a robust academic foundation, holding a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master of Science in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
His educational achievements also include a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre in Jaji, Kaduna State.
In addition to his academic credentials, CSP Hundeyin is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
Prior to his new appointment, CSP Hundeyin served as the Police Public Relations Officer at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.
His extensive experience includes participation in the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020, along with holding the role of Administration Officer in the Force Public Relations Department at Force Headquarters in Abuja. Most recently, he has been serving as the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command.
In welcoming CSP Hundeyin to his new role, IGP Egbetokun highlighted the significance of leveraging his extensive communication and security background to elevate the Force’s public relations initiatives and foster meaningful engagement with the community.
The IGP’s vision emphasizes the importance of transparency and positive communication in building trust between the police and the public.
As CSP Hundeyin steps into this vital position, there are high expectations for innovative approaches to public relations, which will not only enhance the image of the police force but also strengthen its relationship with the communities it serves.
