32 Thuggery Suspects Arrested in Minna, Including Three Notorious Kingpins and One Escaped Inmate.

In line with the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, MNIPS, commitment to eradicate thuggery, phone snatching, and other forms of robbery in the state, police operatives from ‘A’ Division in Minna conducted sting operations and raids on criminal hideouts in the Minna metropolis.
During these operations, a total of thirty-two suspected criminals were arrested. Among them was Jemilu Usman, a 19-year-old known as Pabore, who had been on the police wanted list for attempted culpable homicide in Tayi village, Minna. Another kingpin arrested was Abdulraheem Tasiu, also known as Tsoho Papalo, from the PZ area.
Additionally, Abdulmajid Abubakar, a 25-year-old known as Gaye from Angwan-Daji, Minna, was arrested after recently returning from the correctional center, where he served a jail term. He was found with a cutlass.
Mohammed Yahaya, a 35-year-old from Angwan-Sarki, was also apprehended. Preliminary investigations revealed that he was one of the escaped inmates from the correctional center during the last jailbreak, having been convicted of homicide.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included several wraps of suspected cannabis, shisha pots, cutlasses, and other illicit substances. All suspects are being investigated, and efforts are ongoing to transfer the inmate back to the custodial center.
Regarding the incident involving Jemilu Usman under the GRA Division, it was reported that in May 2025, a victim from Tayi village, Minna, was attacked at home.
Some miscreants, including Jemilu Usman, Adamu Wasape, Abdulrahman, Muntari, and Umar Idris, went to the victim’s house to pluck mangoes. When the victim resisted, one of the hoodlums used a knife to inflict a deep cut on the victim’s head before they fled.
Jemilu Usman is assisting the police in the investigation to apprehend the other gang members.
