Etsu Nupe lauds President Tinubu for appointing Ndagi Alhassan as Registrar, NMCN

Minna – Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing a reputable son of Kin Nupe, Alhaji Ndagi Alhassan, as the substantive Registrar/CEO of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Alhaji Abubakar made the commendation in Minna at the weekend during an epochal civic reception in honour of the appointee.
The event was organised by the council and the Niger State College of Nursing Sciences in recognition of the enviable appointment of the registrar.
The Etsu Nupe, represented by the Wambai Nupe, Engr. Ndagi Aliyu, maintained that Bida Emirate and the entire Kin Nupe were proud to be associated with the new appointee as he is a dedicated, pious and committed indigene of the area.
The first class traditional ruler said: “This is why we must show our endless happiness and pride in this honour done to us.
“The President, therefore, deserves a pat on the back for this great honour to the Bida Emirate and Niger State in general.”
Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar also noted that the event was organised to bless and pray for successful tenure for the registrar.
He urged him to continue to be humble, humane and patriotic, appealing “please, continue to make sacrifices and be professor to the core.
“You must work hard to leave lasting legacies in the discharge of this all-important national assignment”.
Responding, Alhassan commended President Tinubu and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, for the confidence reposed in him to serve the nation.
“This moment is deeply personal, not only because of the role I have been entrusted with, but also because it is being celebrated by my own people.
“I am well aware of the responsibilities that come with this position.
“I am pledging to discharge my duties with diligence, integrity and a steadfast commitment to the growth and and professional excellence of Nursing and Midwifery in Nigeria,” he said.
Alhassan further vowed to work tirelessly and selflessly to promote the welfare of nurses and strengthen the standards of training and practice.
He also promised to ensure that their voices continue to be heard in shaping the nation’s healthcare policies.
The registrar acknowledged the unwavering support of Gov. Umaru Bago, extolling his commitment to healthcare development in the state.
He also applauded the Etsu Nupe for his sustained special prayers, royal blessings and wise counsel.
He lauded the organisers, family, friends and well wishers, among others, for celebrating him in a very unique format.
