Governor Bago Announces Provisional Employment for Senator Sani Musa’s Scholarship Beneficiaries.

In a significant development for Niger State, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has extended provisional employment offers to all beneficiaries of Senator Muhammad Sani Musa’s International Undergraduate Scholarship program.
This announcement was made during the official pre-departure briefing and unveiling ceremony, which catered to 100 deserving students selected for the 2025 scholarship initiative from the Niger East Senatorial District.
Governor Bago revealed additional support measures, including a donation of $2,000 to each beneficiary and N1 million to their parents to acknowledge their supportive roles in the students’ educational journeys.
The governor commended Senator Musa for his visionary leadership and commitment to enhancing the state’s educational landscape, expressing eagerness to continue collaborating with him for the state’s advancement.
Highlighting Senator Musa’s dedication, Governor Bago noted that the senator has also provided an extra 30 scholarship slots for students to study in China, focusing on various science-related disciplines.
He reiterated the state government’s commitment to sponsor 1,000 students abroad, urging beneficiaries to uphold the state’s reputation as they pursue their studies overseas.
Senator Musa articulated the intent behind the scholarship initiative, emphasizing its alignment with the transformative agenda of Governor Bago aimed at fostering a new Niger State.
He reaffirmed the program’s goal of empowering talented youths to fulfill their academic aspirations, announcing future opportunities for students to study medical, biomedical, robotics, and artificial intelligence-related courses.
The Emir of Minna, Umar Faruk Bahago, commended Senator Musa for his commitment to providing educational opportunities for the less privileged, fostering societal development through empowerment.
Ibrahim Balarabe, Chairman of the International Scholarship Committee, shared that over 600 applicants vied for the scholarships in three main areas: medical services, information technology, and engineering. After a rigorous selection process, which included drug tests, educational qualification verification, and background checks, 100 beneficiaries were selected.
Former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada, underscored the importance of education as a vital legacy for children.
He praised Senator Musa’s initiative to assist impoverished youths in achieving their dreams while urging beneficiaries to take full advantage of this opportunity and remain focused in their academic pursuits.
Both Mrs. Paulina Dami Dami, representing the parents of the beneficiaries, and Habib Sabi Imam, speaking on behalf of the scholarship recipients, expressed profound gratitude to Senator Musa for providing this life-changing opportunity, assuring that they would not disappoint the people of Niger State.
