Major General Giwa Describes Buhari’s Death as a Monumental National Loss
The National President of the Bida Old Students Association (BOSA), Major General Abdulmalik Halidu Giwa (Retired), has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, calling it a monumental loss for the nation.
In a heartfelt condolence message directed to the people and government of Katsina State, General Giwa highlighted Buhari’s legacy as an elder statesman and a disciplined public figure who dedicated his life to creating a just and corrupt-free Nigeria.
He noted the former President’s remarkable courage and tenacity, as evidenced by his three attempts to contest for the nation’s highest office, which showcased his unwavering commitment to addressing societal injustices.
“The eight years of the late President’s tenure were marked by a high level of honesty and transparency in managing public resources, along with a steadfast adherence to the rule of law,” General Giwa stated.
Holding the traditional title of Taimakon Nupe, General Giwa emphasized that Buhari will be remembered for his simplicity, sincerity, and deep faith, as well as for his commitment to a united Nigeria until the end of his life.
On behalf of the National Executive Committee and the entire membership of BOSA, General Giwa prayed for God’s forgiveness for the deceased and for him to be granted Aljanatu Firdausi.
He also extended his condolences to the deceased’s family and offered support to Nigeria’s current Commander in Chief, President Bola Tinubu, during this challenging time.
