By Haruna Kaniko.
The Honourable Isyaku Bawa Naibi Dallatun Dawaki, Chairman of Suleja Local Government Council and Chief Security Officer for the area, has announced a decisive strategy to combat rising criminal activities by establishing and inaugurating a Special Security Squad.
This dedicated team, comprised of members from the Nigerian Police Force and the Suleja Emirate Vigilantes Force, is tasked with the urgent mission of eradicating criminal elements within the local government area.
During the inauguration ceremony held at the Suleja Area Command of the Nigeria Police, the Chairman emphasized the need to target identified hotspots that serve as havens for criminal activity.
He made it clear that the Council maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
The decision to form this Special Security Squad was prompted by a recent surge in criminal acts throughout the community, particularly affecting areas such as APC Quarters, Second Gate, Kaduna Road, IBB Market, PDP Quarters, and Suleja Low-cost.
The Chairman reaffirmed his dedication to preserving Suleja’s reputation as a thriving commercial hub, vowing no leniency for individuals engaging in illegal activities.
He urged the residents of Suleja to support the efforts of the Special Security Squad by reporting suspicious activities directly to the Council.
The Chairman also advised parents and guardians to monitor their children’s movements closely, as the upcoming security operations will be both intensive and thorough.
Patrolling and surveillance measures will be increased across the local government area, with the squad implementing random stop-and-search operations as needed.
To enhance the effectiveness of the squad, the Chairman announced the introduction of special allowances for all members, with immediate payment to boost morale.
Since taking office, Chairman Isyaku Bawa Naibi has consistently supported security operatives in Suleja by providing them with essential resources, including patrol vehicles and logistical assistance.
