You Will Lose the 2027 Election Like Jonathan If You Are Not Careful — Northern Elder Warns Tinubu.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been cautioned by a Northern elder and public affairs analyst, Alhaji Dabo Sambo, to urgently address the rising insecurity and banditry affecting northern Nigeria or risk electoral defeat in 2027.
In a recent media briefing, Sambo emphasized that insecurity is Nigeria’s most critical challenge, endangering lives and property across the nation. He stressed that the federal government’s failure to ensure the safety of its citizens could lead to serious political repercussions for Tinubu, similar to the fate of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
“If President Tinubu refuses to eliminate these security challenges, he will definitely not win the 2027 election,” Sambo warned. He compared the current situation to Jonathan’s loss, which he attributed to the government’s inability to address widespread insecurity at that time.
Sambo noted that the electorate has grown tired of superficial campaign promises. “The era of distributing carton noodles and salt during campaigns is over,” he said. “People want security and food. Without these, they will not vote.”
He described the dire conditions in the North-West and North-East, regions that provide more than 60% of Nigeria’s food. Sambo pointed out that terrorism has driven farmers from their land, severely impacting agricultural production, raising food prices, and contributing to widespread hunger across the country.
“Food is scarce in Nigeria, and people are hungry,” he said, linking the growing food crisis directly to unchecked insecurity.
He also highlighted the broader economic consequences, including the depreciation of the naira, rising transportation costs, and inflation, which are eroding the savings and purchasing power of ordinary Nigerians.
Sambo urged Tinubu to make visible progress in improving security within the next six months and to begin revitalizing local agriculture within a year. He cautioned that failure to act decisively could lead to Tinubu facing the same political fate as Jonathan in the next general election.
