The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects connected to the kidnapping and murder of a female bank manager, despite her family’s payment of a ₦14 million ransom for her release.
In a statement released on Sunday, Public Relations Officer DSP Tochukwu Ikenga reported that the suspects were apprehended on May 28, 2025, following a thorough investigation that spanned several months.
The victim’s remains were discovered on January 13, 2025, along Nnobi road, a shocking development that occurred after her family had complied with the ransom demands. The condition of the body, with her hands and eyes bound, indicated a violent end.
“Following our commitment to rigorously pursue all criminal matters and ensure public safety in Anambra, we arrested the two suspects on May 28,” Ikenga stated.
The suspects, identified as Monday Egbe and Kenneth Nnoga, were located in a neighboring state, where police operatives successfully captured them.
Ikenga assured the public of the Anambra Police Command’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives and property. “We will continue to take every necessary measure to ensure that criminals are brought to justice. No case will be left unresolved,” he affirmed.
This recent development has provided a sense of relief to the victim’s family and the community at large, who have been yearning for justice in the wake of this tragic incident.
