Easter: Pray for Governor Bago’s Success – CAN Chairman.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State, Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, has urged Christians across the state to pray for God’s assistance in helping the Governor successfully complete all ongoing projects.
In his Easter message titled “Be Hopeful: Let Us Show Concern for One Another and Pray for Our Leaders,” the Chairman, who is also the Catholic Bishop of the Kontagora Diocese, encouraged Christian faithful to use the Easter celebration as an opportunity to express love towards the less privileged in society.
He emphasized the importance of sharing gifts, especially with the needy, widows, orphans, and those in dire need.
Easter marks the joyful conclusion of the Lenten season, which involves prayers, fasting, and alms-giving, following the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, offering hope to mankind.
He stated, “As we celebrate Easter, I urge us to pray for Niger State, our leaders, and for unity and peaceful coexistence among us.
“Let us pray for God’s guidance, especially for our dear Farmer Governor, Rt. Hon. Umaru Mohammed Bago, that He grants him the grace to pursue vigorously and realize the ‘New Niger Agenda.’
“I believe that with the developments and efforts made so far—particularly in the areas of healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure—Niger State will rise again.
“I am confident that with our prayers and hope, all started projects will reach their proper conclusion, but we must dedicate time to pray for our Governor.”
While explaining that Easter celebrates the victory of Jesus over sin and death, the Chairman said, “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
Furthermore, he called on Christians to be living examples to others through lives of love, mercy, compassion, and self-sacrificing service, demonstrating that the Risen Jesus lives in our hearts.
Bishop Yohanna also commended the security agencies for their efforts in addressing insecurity.
