10 Killed as Gunmen Attack Mourners in Plateau

Gunmen reportedly launched a deadly attack on mourners in the Ruwi community of Bokkos Local Government Area in Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of ten people.
The mourners had gathered at the home of a deceased family member when the assailants struck on Thursday night.
According to eyewitnesses, the victims were mostly women, with seven being brutally killed with machetes. Three men were also among those who lost their lives, while two women sustained injuries during the attack.
Mr. Kefas Mallai, the Chairman of the Community Peace Observers in Bokkos LG, confirmed the incident to Our Source in Jos on Friday. He stated that the attackers took advantage of the gathering to carry out this horrific act.
Mallai added that security personnel were alerted to the attack, but unfortunately, they arrived after the assailants had already fled the scene.
