Governor Umaru Bago reaffirms commitments to supporting the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, also known as the Farmer Governor, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to support the military and other security agencies in the state.
Governor Umaru Bago made this statement during the 2025 Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration and Wreath-Laying Ceremony held in Minna, the state capital.
He assured attendees that his administration will continue to collaborate with the military and create a conducive environment for all security agencies in the state, enabling them to effectively carry out their duties of ensuring the safety of citizens and their property.
The Farmer Governor emphasized the invaluable service of those who laid down their lives for peace and security in the state and the nation.
He announced that the state government would continue to support the widows and widowers of fallen heroes, helping them feel a sense of belonging in society.
Highlights of the ceremony included a wreath-laying performed by the Farmer Governor, followed by the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Afiniki Dauda, as well as heads of security agencies and the Etsu Nupe, who is also the Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar. Other attendees included the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Niger State Chapter, Alhaji Mamuda Ahmed, and representatives of the widows of fallen heroes, including Hajiya Hadiza Tamba.
The event featured special prayers offered for the souls of the fallen heroes, a gun salute, the signing of the register, and the presentation of a 50 million naira cheque to the Niger State Chapter of the Nigerian Legion.
Additionally, the Farmer Governor released pigeons to symbolize peace in the state and the country.
