El-Rufai Addresses Rumors of Defecting to PDP
Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has dismissed rumors suggesting that he has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a response on his verified X account (formerly Twitter), El-Rufai urged Nigerians to disregard the false reports, labeling them as “patent lies.” He also announced that he has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against those spreading the misinformation.
“Please disregard the patent lies and rumors about my political affiliation. I have referred the primary purveyors of this fake news to my lawyers for further action,” El-Rufai posted on Sunday.
Additionally, a close associate of the former governor characterized these claims as the work of mischief-makers, affirming that El-Rufai, as a prominent figure within the APC, would not defect to the PDP without making a public announcement.
