Clergy Moves to Stop Commercialization of the Gospel: Organizes Interdenominational School of Ministry

In an effort to combat the commercialization of the gospel by some Christian clerics, Rev. Dr. Sunday Onuche, the founder of the Divine Grace School of Ministry, is organizing a school of ministry to address this concerning trend.
In a statement released to the media on Monday in Minna, the former secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (Niger State Chapter) expressed his concern that the altar of God is fragmented and disorganized across the country.
“We are on a mandate driven by a divine vision to rebuild the scattered and disorganized altar and temple of God through practical teachings on holiness, righteousness, integrity, and the unwavering truth of holy living,” he stated.
Rev. Dr. Onuche criticized the ongoing commercialization of the gospel and the misinterpretation of scriptures by certain clerics aimed at achieving material gains.
“In our quest to cultivate vibrant ministers who can build the body of Christ, I developed the concept of the Divine Grace School of Ministry,” he explained.
The school will run from Thursday, December 5th, to Saturday, December 7th, 2024, with the conference theme being “Making the Man Who Makes the Ministry.” It will feature lecturers and speakers from both local and international backgrounds.
Rev. Dr. Onuche described the school’s vision as enriched with revelatory teachings and explosive exegetical analyses of scriptures, designed to equip participants for the end times.
“It will serve as a platform where ministers are equipped with essential scriptural truths to help them resist the temptations of the modern age’s gospel of commercialization, commoditization, personalization, monetization, and privatization of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,” he added.
The president of the Divine Grace School of Ministry, who is also the overseer of Divine Grace Ministry, noted that the school unites various church leaders and ministers from different congregations with a common vision and burden.
Among the speakers at the three-day training will be Apostle Olusegun Oyewale Olaniyi from the USA, Rev. Dr. Sam Jenfa from London, and Pastor Alloysios Nwankwo, the Niger State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, among others.
