APC Faction Announces Plans to Register New Political Party, Aims to Unseat Tinubu in 2027

From: Our Correspondent, Kano

Team New Nigeria (TNN), a splinter group from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced its intention to register as a political party with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a declaration made in Kano yesterday, TNN revealed its decision to break away from the APC, aiming to establish a new political party that will address the issues of economic hardship and poor governance in Nigeria.

Modibbo Farakwai, the National Leader of TNN, criticized the current administration of President Bola Tinubu, stating that it has failed to adequately secure the country against terrorist threats.

He emphasized that TNN is mobilizing millions of Nigerians across all six geopolitical zones to reclaim power from the APC in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Farakwai expressed concern that despite being founding members and critical supporters of the APC, TNN members have been marginalized in the party’s current activities.

He pointed out the widespread issues of poverty and unemployment affecting the nation, as well as a significant decline in social services and infrastructure.

He stated, “There is an unprecedented fall in the nation’s standard of living and a dramatic increase in the hardships faced by citizens. Today, nothing seems to be going right, and our nation appears to be functioning poorly, if at all.”

Farakwai emphasized that TNN understands the critical challenges facing the country and possesses solutions to address these enduring problems, urging Nigerians to look beyond the APC government in the 2027 elections.

The movement expressed its dissatisfaction with the APC-led federal government, accusing it of confusion, lack of vision, and mediocrity, which has contributed to significant hardships for the population.
