NBA, Minna Branch,has called for peaceful coexistence amongst the two major religion in the state.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Minna Branch, Barrister Isyaku Barau, has called for peaceful coexistence between adherents of the two major religions in the state.
Barrister Isyaku Barau made this appeal in response to the recent burning of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Kontagora by suspected hoodlums.
He strongly condemned the barbaric act carried out by unscrupulous elements intent on causing disunity and disturbing the peace that exists between religious communities in the state.
Describing the act as uncalled for, Barrister Isyaku Barau reminded the people of Niger State that the state government is committed to upholding freedom of worship and association which is guaranteed by our Constitution.
He also appealed to the state government and security agencies to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
Barrister Isyaku Barau urged the people of the state to continue living peacefully with one another, regardless of tribe or religious beliefs, so that peace may reign supreme.
He also called on the Christian community in the state to remain calm and refrain from acts of retaliation, assuring them that Government and the security agencies are fully committed to apprehending the culprits.
