Commander tasks security agencies on intelligence sharing to tackle banditry

Brig.-Gen. Kabir Rabiu, Commander 31 Artillery Brigade has called for sustained inter-agency collaboration and timely sharing of intelligence among security agencies to effectively combat banditry and other criminal activities in Niger.
Rabiu made the call on Thursday during operational and familiarisation visits to the Commander, 013 Quick Response Force (QRF), Nigerian Air Force, Group Capt. Kehinde Orobola-Akinyosade and the Commissioner of Police, Niger Command, CP Adamu Abdullahi- Elleman.
Rabiu said that the evolving nature of contemporary security challenges required a unified and coordinated approach by the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.
According to him, effective collaboration, intelligence sharing and coordinated operations are critical to denying criminal elements freedom of action and ensuring lasting peace and security across the state.
The commander commended the existing cordial relationship among security agencies in the state and urged them to sustain the cooperation.
He assured the agencies of the brigade’s unwavering commitment to supporting all collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing security within its Area of Responsibility.
Rabiu who also visited troops deployed at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, commended the personnel for their dedication, resilience and commitment to duty.
He urged them to remain disciplined, vigilant and professional in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The commander also cautioned the troops against the wrongful use of social media and directed them to strictly adhere to the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s policies and regulations governing social media use by military personnel.
He encouraged the troops to continue upholding the core values, discipline and ethical standards of the Nigerian Army in the discharge of their duties.
In their respective responses, Akinyosade and Abdullahi-Elleman expressed appreciation to the brigade commander for the visits, describing them as timely and indicative of his commitment to strengthening inter-agency cooperation.
They assured him of their maximum support, sustained collaboration and continuous intelligence sharing to effectively combat banditry and other criminal activities in the state.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the brigade and other security agencies to enhance the protection of lives and property across Niger.
The visits formed part of the commander’s operational and familiarisation engagements aimed at strengthening cooperation and enhancing security coordination within the state.
The activities further underscored the shared commitment of the security agencies to foster a stronger operational partnership towards achieving a safer and more secure Niger State.(NAN)
