Farouk Audi Extends Greetings to Muslims on the Beginning of Ramadan 1447 AH
The Niger State Commissioner for Water Resources and Irrigation Services, Farouk Umaru Audi, has offered his congratulations to Muslims in Niger State, Nigeria, and globally on the start of Ramadan 1447 AH, which commenced on February 18, 2026.
In a goodwill message signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation Services, Akilu Musa Kuta, the commissioner emphasized that Ramadan is a sacred and spiritually enriching period of great importance to Muslims worldwide. He highlighted that it is a season that bolsters faith and moral awareness among followers.
He noted that the month is dedicated to fasting, prayer, self-reflection, and charitable acts, providing a meaningful opportunity for personal development, renewed faith, and increased compassion for society’s less privileged.
According to him, Ramadan also serves as a reminder of core values such as discipline, compassion, sacrifice, and community unity—principles vital for fostering a peaceful and progressive society.
Engineer Audi urged Muslims and followers of other faiths to promote unity and mutual understanding as essential for sustainable peace and development.
He also called on citizens to support government efforts aimed at tackling socio-economic issues, particularly the provision of safe, drinking water across the state.
The commissioner encouraged residents to draw lessons from Ramadan—patience, generosity, tolerance, and collective responsibility—to contribute constructively to the water revitalization initiatives led by Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago.
He concluded by wishing Muslims a blessed and spiritually enriching Ramadan, filled with peace, abundant blessings, and renewed hope for a brighter future.
